Kawesqar is a tribute to the craftsmanship and nature of Patagonia. Our vodka, 100% handcrafted with potatoes grown in Coyhaique by Alejandro Mansilla, captures the pure and authentic essence of this region. Each bottle is the result of a meticulous process, from fermentation to bottling, where we use crystal-clear water from an underground spring in Vista Hermosa. Our commitment is to offer you a vodka of exceptional quality, reflecting the beauty and purity of Patagonia.

The water that gives our vodka its special flavor and purity is extracted from an underground spring in the Vista Hermosa area, located on the Carretera Austral toward Cerro Castillo. It is added to our vodka in its purest and most natural form.

The vodka production cycle is a closed circle. Production waste (the watery mashed potatoes) is returned to the same potato farmer to be transformed into compost and fertilizer for his farm.

Yuliyan Popov

Yuliyan Popov, originally from Bulgaria and based in Chile since 2001, is the creator of Kawesqar Vodka. With an inherited passion for distilling, Popov arrived in Patagonia in 2019 to bring his project to life. Using the region's finest potatoes and pure glacial water, he crafts a high-quality vodka that fuses European traditions with Patagonian nature.
